Description
A prestigious blend of Nero d’Avola and Nero Cappuccio, Duca di Montalbo is produced only in the finest vintages from over 50-year-old vineyards with exceptionally low yields. The wine is refined for 48 months in a combination of barrique and large oak barrels.
The 2007 vintage was outstanding for red wines in Sicily, marked by a hot summer with significant day-night temperature variation. This created optimal conditions for exceptional polyphenolic and tannin ripeness, resulting in a wine rich in character yet remarkably fresh, with balsamic and spicy nuances.
The nose is fresh and elegant, offering notes of fresh red fruit — notably blackberry, raspberry, and plum — complemented by aromatic hints of rosemary, thyme, and subtle spice. On the palate, it is powerful and structured, with rich, silky tannins of exceptional quality. Full-bodied and fresh in balance, it delivers remarkable persistence and elegance.
